NAA .22 Long Rifle Mini-Revolver
NAA .22 Long Rifle Mini-Revolver
________________________________________ Specifications: Caliber: .22 Long Rifle Capacity: 5 Material: 17-4 pH stainless steel Barrel Length: 1 1/8" Overall Length: 4" Overall Height: 2 3/8" Width: 13/16" Weight: 4.5 oz. unloaded Suggested Retail Price: $199.00 Part Number: NAA-22LR i have grown to like this as the cylinder locks where the hammer/cartridge is not in line so it is safe from discharge even knocked around when i do hard physical work, crawling under a house, etc. etc. i do now keep it in a baggie folded as perspiration evidently caused several rounds to not fire this summer. it is also small enough that it fits in front pant pocket & not visible. i readily carry an additional weapon when i feel any need to; but this is w/ me virtually always[ i have to remind myself when in the few restricted places- courthouse etc]. it would also help me get to more protection in a no. of situations.i keep 5 extra rounds in an old fuse box w/ the gun.[i couldn't get the picture to post.] http://www.naaminis.com/lrifle.html |
Re: NAA .22 Long Rifle Mini-Revolver
I love this gun with a passion. I have the one with the extra cylinder to switch to 22 mag. This little guy goes anywhere. I used to keep it on me at a job a had several years ago. It was "against the law" to have a gun in my workplace, but considering the crime rate and shady people, I was willing to take that risk. I wore those Docker pants with the extra zipper pocket on the right leg below the regular pocket. It was securely zipped up, but very easy to access.

Re: NAA .22 Long Rifle Mini-Revolver
I carry the folding handle version (old style) with me everywhere. It fits neatly in the "watch pocket" of my jeans, and nobody notices it there.

Re: NAA .22 Long Rifle Mini-Revolver
I also have the .22 mag with the .22 long conversion. I keep mine loaded with CCI Maxi Mag + V...I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end in an up close and personal situation.

The Velocitor has a loud pop, which is much louder than normal 22 ammo, but it packs a punch. It has the capability's of knocking down animals larger than most would consider with a 22. Great for varmint hunting or even small game. The 40 gr HP has a nice wide/shallow HP which mushrooms out nicely. Was this review helpful? Now I rarely buy any other ammo for my 22's (I have 6) Can't remember any misfires, the ammo is extremely reliable. The damage it does on small game is devastating and I've consistently been able to make kill shots out to 200yds. Great Ammo! Was this review helpful? They are accurate, consistent and they feed well through my firearm.(Ruger 10/22) Never had a misfire with them either. I can shoot 5 shot groups in one hole all day long. I would highly recommend CCI Velocitor's to anybody looking for a high velocity 40 grain .22 load. Was this review helpful? But I do remember being amazed at their accuracy given their obvious power and terminal performance. Wolf Match or Match Extras, can't remember which, were my choice for awhile since they shot so well, I think around 3/8" @ 50 yds. But since even shots in the head area sometimes failed to cleanly kill, I kept looking. And the Velocitors shot very nearly as accurate with killing ability that looked like centerfire in comparison with match rounds. I never even wonder about other .22 hunting ammo anymore. The higher velocity cycles the Advantage Arms 22 Glock conversion easily and also my 1911 conversion. Accuracy is on par with the CCI Mini-Mags, I get 1/4" groups at 50 yds in the 10/22. Again, it has the regular shell length so it won't mess up your chamber. Was this review helpful? I like this load primarily because I shoot barrels with match cambers, and the Velocitor uses a standard .22 LR length shell casing, if you compare it to the Stinger or Quickshock those shell casing are longer and can damage your chamber. So I can get hypervelocity ballistics without the fear of damaging my barrels. Accuracy is good but you’re shooting a hunting load at 1435 fps so I know going into it it’s not a target load. My eyes are not what they once were, but the 1947 still shoots dime size groups @ 50ft w/iron sights. Henry shoots dime size group @25yds w/iron sights. The Marlin semi-auto has a 3x9 w/AO and quick focus eyepiece...Bushnell. @50yds it shoots dime size groups....3/8" size groups in my gun rest. Last year a wounded Bobcat (bum front leg) showed up at my house and tried to set up camp in my woodshed. One shot behind the ear and lights out. These rounds open up to about 1/4"-3/8" and does massive damage to varmints. These will shoot through a 3" phonebook at 50 ft! I shoot nothing else. Was this review helpful? [QUOTE=<SLV>;1491758]I use CCI Velocitors - 40 gr. HP. Midway reviews:...
thanks! i didn't know that a more powerful 22 ammo existed; won't break the bank w/ this & i don't mind that it makes more noise! |
Re: NAA .22 Long Rifle Mini-Revolver
I've had the 22LR version for the post 13 years. Awesome little guns.
Great to see like minded GIM gun owners!!!!! We often think alike......think the right way in my opinion.... I carry a Keltec 380 + NAA 22LR + Spyderco Endura knife. the NAA takes up the same room as a reasonable pocket knife. This is the smallest, functional gun you can carry. I've had the folding grip holster....too thick, did not like it. I also have the now BATF illegal holster that looks like a wallet with a trigger hole for acruating the trigger......I like this a lot....looks just like a wallet. Get one of these while you still can find them new/old stock. Best use, is probably loose as pocket backup.....even fits in a shirt pocket..... I love these little guns. |

Bobby Kennedy was killed with a 22LR. I've seen deer and large farm animals dropped in their tracks by a 22LR. Good head shot = near instant death. A 22LR is way down on my list of defense weapon choices.....but the NAA 22LR is so stinking small....no reason to not have a 2nd pistol wherever you go. This gun is so small you could hide it just about anywhere....it is so small it can be palmed....hidden under your hand......under your hat.... These are a fantastice value = Great Quality / $. |
Re: NAA .22 Long Rifle Mini-Revolver
A buddy of mine said that the .22 mag at the muzzle is equivalent to a .223 at 400 yards which can still do some damage. Looks about right.

I have the .22 mag with the 1 5\8 barrel. I carry it every where. It's like a very long sharp stick only shorter and it will put an eye out.:s9:

For the 22 mag 1875 fps muzzle for rifle vs. 1200 for 1 5/8" barrel, 41 % of energy out of rifle. The effectiveness of .223 drops significantly at velocities below about 2500 fps, above that the round breaks up and can cause devastating wounds. I have both larger caliber and small caliber pistols and I'm not trying to argue just looking at how effective these weapons are. For small caliber pistols I have Keltec PLR in .223 and FNH five-seven. M855 (.223) can produce insignificant wounds, similar to those produced by .22 long rifle if the bullets do not fragment or yaw. This can be caused by velocities below approximately 2500 f/s as when fired from short barrel weapons, when the range increases beyond 150 yards, or if the bullets pass through only minimal tissue, such as a limb or the chest of a thin, malnourished individual--when this occurs, the bullet exits the body before it has a chance to yaw and fragment at the cannelure. From PhD commenting at http://tacticalforums.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000369.html Unless looking for psychological effects (holy sh*t I'm shot) looks like a CNS hit would be necessary for incapacitation. That would be easy with an ambush where time is on your side. If a bad guy is coming at you I don't know, might only piss him off. |

it's the size & safety factor for the firing pin that for makes me ok with carrying at home , wherever, whenever [stays in pants pocket]; & since i occasionally do very physical work i would only have something small, light, & very safe , even knocked around. when i feel the need, like rupick, i carry a keltec 380 too w/extra loaded mag - both in the same front pocket. |
Re: NAA .22 Long Rifle Mini-Revolver
I've been eyeballing the NAA .22 mag / .22 LR combo revolver. I found one for $259 today, but didn't have the $$ having recently bought my Walther P38/P1. I saw the .22 LR for $200, but I like the versatility of the combo. One of these is certainly on my "to buy" list, among many others.

Re: NAA .22 Long Rifle Mini-Revolver
Is it single action or double action?
Never been around one befors. E-A |
Re: NAA .22 Long Rifle Mini-Revolver
I have one of these also, I carry it in the quick release belt buckle that is still available from the company, it's a real snazzy little belt buckle, and people always ask if it's a real gun.

One of these in your pocket is far better than a 45 that is left in the car.

Re: NAA .22 Long Rifle Mini-Revolver
couple of things;
because it is so short/small-to me fairly stiff trigger pull- practice is necessary for accuracy + this gun is somewhat challenging to hold/squeeze/shoot. in trying different ways of holding/shooting it i had a finger near the cylinder/firing chamber once & the concussion/blowby when fired made my finger numb/ache for 10 min. or so. as crime worsens thinking this is alone is adequate protection would be a big mistake; in fact i believe there will be more 'pack' muggings, etc. i would want a lot more for protection. felfal talks about this as i'm sure most here know & have thought thru. |

Personally, I'm more likely to use my weapon while in a grappling situation than be in a shootout. I'm not looking for trouble and someone is going to have to have me in very bad situation before I would kill them. Words or threats would not be sufficient for me to kill someone...they would have to actually pull a weapon or be in the motion of pulling a weapon, or have me on the ground beating me where I think they could kill me and I wasn't going to be able to overcome their assault without shooting them. Everything depends on the situation...if I was carrying a lot of cash or gold in the process of doing business or backing somebody up in a major transaction, or I knew I was entering a dangerous situation...I would carry much more heat for the specific situation, but if I'm in my element and just being prepared for the unexpected...my little .22 Mag with Maxi Mag +V or TNT (similar muzzle speed to a .357), I'll take my chances with something in my pocket than a heavy weapon I'm unlikely to want to lug around all the time. |
